Recent Changes to the Law on Contract for Deeds

The CLE will review the established law for contracts for deeds before 2024. The CLE will then cover the Kansas Contract for Deed Act enacted in 2024 and the Herrera v. Koehn case decided in November of 2025. After that, the CLE will address the effect of the act and the case, especially the potentially significant detrimental effects of both the act and the case on the rights of buyers under contracts for deed.
