 Navigating the OBBBA: New Realities in Tax Strategy and Wealth Preservation

This session breaks down the permanent extensions of the 2017 TCJA and explores the new incentives introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).  From the increased SALT caps, the new $15 million estate tax exemption, to the mechanics of Trump Accounts, discussed will be strategies for maximizing deductions on overtime, tips, R&D expensing and more for the 2026 tax year.

Presenter: Roger A. McEowen

Roger A. McEowen is the Professor of Agricultural Law and Taxation at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. He also teaches in the Agricultural Economics Department at Kansas St. University where he also provides Extension programming in agricultural law and taxation and is the attorney for the Kansas Ag Mediation Service.
