    The Celtic Fox

    5:00-7:00pm

    Appetizers provided.

This meeting is open to all committee chairs to collaborate and touch base. While some committees are more active than others each committee is important to the success of the TBA.

Committee meetings serve a vital function in our association. They are the mechanism by which specific subgroups within an organization are galvanized behind a common objective and achieve specific - often vital - goals that help our association to operate and move forwards. In the case of our board, committee meetings are the mechanism by which directors and non-executive directors chart the course for the TBA.

By having a clear understanding of the role within your committee and utilizing a few important components correctly, we can ensure that our committees, board and members are aligned behind common objectives, and get the most out of the TBA.

    Webinar CLE -Zoom

    June 21, 2024

    8:50am- 3:40pm

Approved for 7 hours of CLE including 1 hour E&P in KS

Murder trials capture the American’s attention like no other. It is the original reality TV. From gruesome murder scene, to the search for who is responsible, society is consumed with the process. For lawyers, it is a crowning achievement of the profession. It provides an orderly way to process and hold responsible people who commit these heinous acts. But does the process always work? Does the innocent get convicted?

Does the guilty go free? This CLE examines 5 true crimes, from the grisly details of the murder scene, to the decision to indict, to the trial, and finally, to the verdict. And in the process, this CLE puts the legal system on trial.

Presenter: Joel Oster, Esq., is a seasoned litigator and distinguished speaker based in Kansas City. Specializing in constitutional litigation, campaign finance, sports law, and appellate advocacy, he has a notable track record defending First Amendment issues. Previously a senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, Joel played a key role in landmark cases such as Galloway v. Greece and Freedom from Religion Foundation v. Obama. Admitted to the bar in Kansas, Missouri, Florida, and federal courts, he brings a practical perspective to seminars, drawing from extensive experience in successful and unsuccessful legal practices across the United States. Joel earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1997.

    $150-200* for TBA Members

    $400 for Non-Members
