Advertising Opportunities with the Topeka Bar Association

The TBA has advertising opportunities in its monthly newsletter the Briefings, and every other year in its membership directory. The directory will be published again in 2008.

The monthly newsletter goes out to almost 600 attorneys in Topeka and Shawnee County. The advertising deadline for the newsletter is the 10th of the preceding month. For example, if you want to be in the March newsletter, you need to have an ad in by February 10. Other advertising policies and guidelines are listed below. Copy Responsibility: The advertiser is responsible for copy submission. Last insertion will be run
if new copy is not received by closing date. Liability for content of ads (text, representation, and
illustrations) is assumed by the company and/or ad agency submitting the ad. The TBA cannot be
held liable for any claims made by the advertisement.
Copy Acceptance: The TBA reserves the right to reject any advertising. An ad resembling editorial
material will be marked “advertisement.”
Errors: In the event of an error in advertisement occurs for which the TBA is responsibility, liability
will be limited to republishing the corrected ad.
Payment: 30 days net to companies and individuals with approval of the TBA, payment due upon
receipt of invoice. Otherwise, advance payment is required. No cash discount.
Cancellation: The TBA reserves the right to bill for ads cancelled by the advertiser at 100% of the
original charge.
Ad Production Services: Ad production services are available on a limited basis for $25 per ad regardless of size. Changes to the ad after first publication will be billed at the same rate. The TBA
reserves the right to refuse ad production services.
Special Effects/Placement: Color is not available. Ads will not run as inserts or flyers. Ad placement,
including page selection and location on the page, is entirely within the discretion of the TBA.
Classified Advertising: TBA members wishing to submit short messages to the “Announcements”
column, including but not limited to office space for rent, law books for sale, or the like, will be
not be charged for this service. Non-members wishing to submit such items must purchase advertising
space at the rates set forth above.
